What services do you offer?
Carson Valley Home Services provides interior and exterior painting, small home repairs, wood staining and refinishing, gutter cleaning, seasonal maintenance, and residential snow removal. Contact me if you have a project that is not listed—I can quickly tell you whether it fits my scope of work.
What areas do you serve?
I am based in Gardnerville and serve homeowners throughout Douglas County and nearby areas, including Minden, Genoa, Carson City, and surrounding communities. Travel charges may apply to projects outside my normal service area.
How do I request an estimate?
Call, text, or submit the estimate-request form with a brief description of the project, your location, and any helpful photos. Straightforward projects may be estimated from photos, while larger or more detailed work may require an on-site visit.
Are estimates free?
Most initial estimates are free. Projects requiring extensive inspection, troubleshooting, measurements, or planning may include an estimate or consultation fee. Any fee will be explained before the appointment is scheduled.
Do you provide materials?
Yes. Depending on the project, I can supply the necessary materials or work with materials you have already selected. Material costs and product choices will be clearly outlined in the estimate.
Is a deposit required?
A deposit may be required for larger projects, special-order materials, or jobs requiring substantial preparation. The deposit amount, payment schedule, and remaining balance will be clearly stated in your written estimate before work begins.
What payment methods do you accept?
Available payment methods will be listed on your estimate or invoice. Payment is generally due according to the agreed project schedule, with the final balance due when the work is completed unless otherwise stated.
How far in advance should I schedule?
Scheduling depends on the size of the project, the season, and current availability. Painting and outdoor maintenance tend to book more quickly during favorable weather, so earlier notice is recommended.
What happens if weather affects my project?
Exterior painting, staining, gutter cleaning, and snow-related work may need to be adjusted because of rain, wind, temperature, snow, or unsafe conditions. I will communicate any necessary changes and reschedule the work for the earliest practical opening.
Do I need to be home while the work is being completed?
Not always. For exterior work or projects with approved access arrangements, you may not need to be present. We will confirm access, project details, pets, gates, utilities, and any other important instructions before work begins.
How do you protect my home and clean up afterward?
I use appropriate coverings, masking, and preparation methods to protect nearby surfaces and belongings. I keep the work area organized and remove project-related debris when the job is complete.
Can I change or cancel my appointment?
Yes. Please provide as much notice as possible so the time can be offered to another customer. Changes involving purchased materials, special orders, or work already completed may result in charges that will be discussed with you directly.
Do you handle both small and larger projects?
Yes, within the services and project sizes I currently offer. I handle everything from focused repairs and maintenance tasks to larger painting and staining projects. For work outside my scope, I will be direct rather than accepting a job I am not equipped to complete properly.
Are you insured?
Yes. Carson Valley Home Services carries general liability insurance for the services it provides. Documentation can be supplied when reasonably required for a project.
How do I get started?
Send me a description of the project, your location, and a few photos if available. I will review the information, ask any necessary questions, and recommend the next step.
